Digital Agenda for October 25th

Step#1
So far, I only have 7 presentations on how to use an iPad. Make sure to finish and share it with me at: mrlunascience@gmail.com

Step#2
Done with your presentation? Well, we don't want to have silly mistakes or confusing slides. Today you are going to peer edit the Google presentations for:
1. Spelling
2. Meaning (does it make sense)
3. Content (see post below for requirements)

Send your presentation to the whole STL group using the list on the right side of this blog. We will peer edit today and Monday. Spend the rest of today peer editing and fixing presentations. If you finish, move on to the next step.

Step#3
Log on to brainpop and watch the video on Obesity. Take the graded quiz and send me the score to: lluna@laalliance.org

Step#4
We are now in the month of fairness. Make a digital poster using Google Drawing (it's in your drive). Share it with me so I can grade it!

Practice coding at code.org (You can watch the video if you want to figure out what it's all about).

Digital Agenda for October 10th and 14th


6th Grade:
Step#1
You will have to grade Earthquake Safety movies next week. Use all of advisory to finish your Earthquake Safety Presentation so that you can get ahead of your classmates or catch up. Go to mrlunascience.blogspot.com and make sure your presentation has all the requirements.

Step#2
Finished? STL's created Techyes accounts during summer time but you want to check if you can log in. Create a new project (Title: Earthquake Safety Project) in Techyes and make sure to fill out all the forms. Watch the video below to see how to navigate Techyes.

You will be randomly chosen to share a drive app that you found next week. Be ready to present!

Step#3
As we have discussed, all of our school will have iPads. Some students know how to use iPads and some do not. I would like you to make a presentation using either Prezi or Google Presentation on the basics of using an iPad. Your presentation can must include a minimum of 3 things below. Add pictures and make sure it is not confusing! They might be turned into videos and shared with the school OR you might go into advisory classes to present. It hasn't been decided yet. Either way, you get a grade!!

1. How to close an app
2. How to take a screenshot
3. How to make a folder
4. How to use the pull up menu
5. How to find and use the search menu
6. Setting up your mail inbox
7. How to use multitasking gestures (Pinch to home screen, swipe left or right between apps, etc)
8. Anything else you feel would be useful!

Step#4
Do one of the following:
1. Read a book
2. Practice Coding at Code.org
3. Practice a new language at duolingo.com
4. Do missing classwork/homework for another class.

1. Embedding presentations into blogs (Practice with a computer HTML code with your blog. If you don't have a blog, create one!)

2. Find a useful app to connect to your Google Drive. You will present the app (chosen randomly) on Thursday of next week.

2. Start homework/projects for another class
3. Practice coding at code.org
4. Practice a new language at Duolingo.com
